Team Intrinsic’s Matt Cox was on fire at the annual JLL Property Triathlon recording another first in category and 4th overall in temperatures that soared to 28°C in the shade.
Fellow Team Intrinsic triathletes followed suit smashing course PBs to shave nearly 3 minutes off their collective finish times.
The searing heat was no match for Matt who finished the Eton Dorney sprint course in 1:04:18, placing first male in his 30-39 age category. His winning time was one minute and 39 seconds faster than 2017 and pushed him up to 4th overall in a field of 973 finishers, an improvement of 3 places.
“The JLL Property Triathlon is the highlight of Team Intrinsic’s race calendar so it would take more than a heatwave to beat us!” commented a delighted Chris Roberts, Intrinsic MD. “Facilities engineering and management demands multi-disciplinary skills, stamina and commitment to seeing a job through at the highest level of excellence. Training for triathlons gives us the energy and drive to make our mark and succeed against the competition. Raising money for good causes while we do it is the icing on the cake.”
With just 12 weeks to go before competing in Ironman Barcelona, Chris put in a solid performance at Eton Dorney to finish the course 15th in the 50-59 age group category in 1:17:29. Ben Richards, Associate at IFE set a course PB finishing 13th in the 40-49 age group category and 28th overall in a time of 1:09:56. His colleague Ben Ferguson, IFE Director, shaved 47 seconds off his own course PB to finish in 1:32:01.
